Unattended Vehicle Crash on Tolbert Avenue Left Elderly Woman Dead

LONG BEACH, CA (December 15, 2021) – A vehicle crash on Tolbert Avenue claimed the life of 102-year-old Helen Morris Thursday afternoon.

The fatal incident occurred around 3:40 pm in the 4500 block of Tolbert Avenue.

According to the initial investigation, an unattended vehicle rolled backwards along a driveway and struck the woman sitting on a rolling walker.

Afterwards, family members who witnessed the incident stopped the vehicle from rolling any further.

In addition, the last operator of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

Unfortunately, Helen Morris later died at the hospital.

At this time, Long Beach Officials are working to identify the circumstances surrounding the crash.
