Fatal Motorcycle Collision on North Orange Olive Road; Eric Lopez Arrested

ORANGE, CA (September 23, 2021) – Monday night, Heath McCormick was killed and Eric Lopez was arrested after a DUI accident on Meats Avenue.

According to police, the incident occurred around 5:30 p.m., at the intersection of North Orange Olive Road and Meats Avenue. Dispatchers responded shortly after.

Reports indicate that Lopez was driving a Nissan south on Orange Olive Road. Meanwhile, McCormick was heading north on his motorcycle. As Lopez attempted to make a left turn onto East Meats Avenue, the two collided.

Despite life-saving efforts, 45-year-old Heath Christian McCormick of Orange, succumbed to his injuries from the accident.

In addition, Lopez stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Investigators believe he was under the influence of marijuana at the time of the collision.

As a result, 24-year-old Eric Lopez of Anaheim, was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
