El Niño is taking a siesta, temperatures reached 70 degrees today in the L.A. Basin, and wildflowers are already blooming in the California desert.

It might not be spring break just yet (light showers were possible tomorrow), but you know what time it is: It's party time.

The Los Angeles Police Department knows you'll be on it this weekend, and it will be on its own mission with two DUI checkpoints. One of them is right in the middle of Clubland, aka Hollywood, too. So beware.

The department says that publicizing its drunk-driver crackdowns prevents at least some of you from getting behind the wheel after one too many. And that could save lives.

“The DUI checkpoints focus on communities where preventable DUI traffic collisions are occurring,” the department said in a statement.

Here's your info:

-Tonight from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. a checkpoint will be awaiting your arrival at Sherman Way and Independence Avenue in Canoga Park.

-Saturday from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. a checkpoint will be running at La Brea and Melrose avenues in Hollywood right near Pink's Hot Dogs.

The LAPD encourages you to report drunk drivers by calling 911 if you see one. Otherwise, be safe.
