When famed filthy filmmaker John Waters released his A John Waters Christmas CD, we got a deeper look at the Pope of Trash's feelings for our corniest of holidays. Filled with obscure gens like “Happy Birthday, Jesus” by Little Cindy and “Santa Claus is a Black Man,” it left you, like all of Waters work, feeling in need of a good scrubbing. “Torn between capitalism and anarchy,” Waters proves the kitsch is back with one-man show A John Waters Christmas, an evening of stories that addresses his love of giving and receiving perverted gifts; Santa's sexuality; and chocolate Santa butt plugs. For good measure, he socks it to the Easter Bunny: “I think Santa Claus should team up with the tooth fairy and kill the Easter bunny,” he quips. Maybe leave the kids home for this one.
