Former film producer Harvey Weinstein pleaded ‘not guilty’ to charges of sexual assault in a Los Angeles criminal court, Wednesday.

The wheelchair-bound producer is facing four counts of rape, four counts of forcible oral copulation, two counts of sexual battery by restraint and one count of sexual penetration by use of force, for incidents alleged to have occurred between 2004 and 2013, according to the Associated Press.

After being convicted on charges of sexual assault and rape , the producer has been serving a 23-year sentence in New York since February of 2020. Weinstein is appealing the New York conviction, asking for a new trial.

Attorney Mark Werksman also said Weinstein has filed to have three of the counts dismissed for being “beyond the statute of limitations.”

Weinstein faces 140 years in prison if convicted on all charges in Los Angeles.
