The four men who were killed in an assassination-style attack at a cafe in North Hollywood have been identified as Harut Baburyan, 28, Sarkis Karadjian, 26, Vardan Tofalyan, 31, and Hayk Yegnanyan, 25.

Two other people were wounded in the April 3 attack that occurred around 4:30 p.m. at the Hot Spot Cafe located at 11651 Riverside Drive.

Police are saying the victims were targeted. The shooter is believed to be a man of Armenian descent, about 30 years old, who walked inside the packed Valley Village Mediterranean restaurant, and began shooting – firing at least 17 bullets. Three of the men died at the cafe and a fourth died at a nearby hospital a short time later.

The mass shooting is being handled by Robbery-Homicide Division detectives. Robbery-Homicide is also investigating the March 26 killing of 38-year-old Karyn Safaryan in her car outside her apartment in Hollywood. Safaryan was found shot to death, with her throat slashed. Detectives are investigating whether her murder is connected to the slayings of her husband and young daughter in 2008.

However, police have not divulged whether the murder of Safaryan and her family is connected to the assassination style attack on Saturday. Anyone with information about the brutal attack should contact LAPD's North Hollywood station at (818) 623-4016.
