There were 105 arrests at the HARD Summer festival downtown over the weekend, officials told the Weekly. Authorities listed those as “arrests” but it would appear that most involved citations in which suspects were released on the spot.

The police stops included 9 for felonies, mostly involving possession of drugs such as ecstasy and cocaine, according to Patrick Deasy of the state Department of Alcohol Beverage Control which, along with the CHP and the LAPD, patrolled the event.

One of the arrests included …

… one person detained and booked by the CHP on suspicion of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, according to Officer Jose Galvan.

A city official reported 22 minor medical incidents and four hospitalizations for people believed to be under the influence of drugs. Last year there were 31 “medical emergencies” at the dance music fest, according to the LAFD.

LAFD spokesman Brian Humphrey did not have such detailed accounting, telling us …

… a majority of the incidents were handled by the enhanced fleet of private ambulances and a medical doctor hired by the promoter.

Cops said there were 17 arrests last year.

The HARD party happened Friday and Saturday until 2 a.m. at Los Angeles State Historic Park near Chinatown.
