After teasing fans all last week with a retro website and an 800 number, Hard Summer finally unveiled its 2016 lineup today. Ice Cube and Major Lazer, both fresh from appearances at Coachella, will headline the two-day music festival, with other popular names in EDM, hip-hop and electronic music including Dillon Francis, Flosstradamus, Travis Scott and Claude VonStroke also booked for the July 30-31 event.

The biggest change in the long-running festival this year will be the location. Instead of returning to the Pomona Fairplex, Hard Summer 2016 will take place at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana. The move follows a year of controversy surrounding the festival's presence at the Fairplex, which began when two teenage girls died of drug overdoses after attending Hard Summer last year. In the wake of their deaths, L.A. County Supervisor Hilda Solis proposed a ban on dance-music festivals at venues on county-owned land (including the Fairplex).

The ban never went into effect, but instead, severe restrictions were imposed on Hard's next event at the Fairplex, its annual Halloween-themed festival, Day of the Dead. The festival's age limit was raised from 18 to 21, overall attendance and number of stages were reduced, and music stopped earlier than at Hard Summer or the previous year's Day of the Dead, also held at the Fairplex. As a result, festival attendance plummeted, leaving some to wonder whether Hard would have to follow its rival EDM promoter Insomniac out of L.A. County in order to survive.

Now that scenario appears to be coming to pass. Though only a few miles east of Pomona, Fontana, home of the Auto Club Speedway, is in San Bernardino County, which historically has been more tolerant of raves and dance-music events than neighboring L.A. County.

The new venue will give Hard Summer more than 500 acres and, for the first time, on-site camping for attendees. It also allows the festival to reduce its age limit to 18 and up.

Tickets for Hard Summer go on sale Friday, April 29, via Ticketmaster. See below for flier and complete lineup.
