The Hours: Monday-Friday 5-7 p.m.

The Deals: Complimentary tray passed appetizers, a selection of $3 dollar martinis, beers and wines by the glass.

The Digs: When you walk into Padri you get the feeling that you've stumbled upon a secret — and that's not just because it's located on a lonely road off a main drag in Agoura Hills. Patrons enter through a tree-lined patio into a bar that's dark and cool and looks like the kind of place you should be able to get a serious martini. Around the bar is a big lounge area with over-sized leather couches and chairs, good for big groups or where you can sneak off and get some privacy. There are large windows that open up to the front patio and another outdoor sitting area on the side where live music from the band wafts in. The clientele is a mix of 30-somethings doing after work drinks, couples on dates and a few regulars.

The Verdict: There is a good selection of $3 martinis and the bartenders aren't frugal with their pours. Their most popular happy hour drink is the pomegranate martini which is nice and icy and not overly sweet. The beer and wine specials leave a little something to be desired, but this place is really more about the martinis. There are no food specials but waiters come around with big plates of pasta and serve it up family style. The food is simple yet tasty and the only downside is they don't come around as frequently as one might want. The best thing about Padri is the atmosphere. Whether you live near by, are on your way back to the Valley from the beach, or find yourself driving west on the 101, it's a great place to grab a good martini and relax.
