The annual LACE (Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions) silent auction is one of those season-highlight affairs for which savvy collectors wait all year. Not only is this venerable performance art – centric institution a beloved favorite of L.A.'s culturati, with support for it considered essential in any self-respecting philanthropic portfolio, but also its auctions are known for attracting great work by some of the most talented and exciting artists in town. Names like John Baldessari, Zackary Drucker, Alexandra Grant, Sandeep Mukherjee, My Barbarian, Julie Orser, Gina Osterloh, Steve Roden, Renee Petropoulos, Raymond Pettibon, Stephen Prina, Susan Silton, Joe Sola and Jeffrey Vallance can be counted on to make for a great show, with or without your actual retail therapy.
