Though occasionally popular with an individual, we as an American culture have thus far failed to embrace “tea time” as a national activity. And isn't that too bad? More involved than a quick jacketed paper cup to go, taking part in afternoon tea, with all its accoutrements, can be a soothing ritual that caps off a day of errands or steals you away from the daily grind. In that spirit, we're all for the Sunday Tea Salon event taking place on Sunday, October 10th at Chado Tea Room, presented by Rick Castro of Antebellum, at which we plan to live out our English cream tea fantasies, at least for the day.

Four different tea services are available starting $10, which will nab you tea, a scone, clotted cream, jam and strawberries, ranging up to the $40 King's and Queen's tea, which includes bottomless tea, sandwiches, soup, salad, a scone, clotted cream, jam, strawberries, cake, cookies and champagne or wine.

And what better way to enjoy your beverage than being entertained by Andrew Ableson, the “handsomest man in the world.” (That title – self-acclaimed? Dubbed? No amount of Googling would tell us for sure.) He's slated to sing, though his outfit leads us to believe there may be magic tricks involved as well.
