The party monsters in their store-bought outfits on Santa Monica Boulevard and in the clubs on Oct. 31 can be the real nightmare. Here are our picks for two wicked events this weekend for queer creatives and fetishy dress-up freaks who wanna take it to the next level, minus the normies and traffic terror next week.

First up, Romy & Michelle’s High School Reunion will transport you inside the fun ’90s flick for realz. You’ll get a nametag from the yearbook editor as you enter, and then ballots will be cast for categories such as “most changed for the better.” At midnight, Romy (Dakota D’Vil) and Michele (Judas Joe Manson) will do their infamous interpretive dance to Cyndi Lauper’s “Time After Time.” All the movie’s characters will be on hand to drink, dance, bitch and fight over who really invented Post-its. Music will be by Mateo Segade and Ryan Jones.

The next night, some of the prom’s “most popular” will be at Dragula Halloween Ball, the Boulet Brothers’ biggest, bloodiest bash yet. Celebrating the release of Queen magazine, the “Halloween Homo Explosion” spotlights drag, leather, rubber, goth, glam, cosplay, you name it.

Performers include the Boulets, Trixie Mattel, Maddelynn Hatter and Landon Cider, plus appearances by Squeaky Blonde, Saint Peter, Dakota D’Vil (that Romy gets around!), Shawn Morales and Magnus Hastings. Dance floor and stage sounds are by Men’s Club Soundsystem. And at midnight there’s a Halloween drag pageant, with a $400 prize.
