20-Year-Old Motorcyclist Dead after Vehicle Collision near Walker Street

ORLAND, CA (January 17, 2023) – Thursday night, 20-year-old Gustabo Ramirez was pronounced dead following a motorcycle-vehicle collision at 6th Street. According to Orland Officials, the accident occurred around 7:40 p.m., January 12th, when Ramirez was doing wheelies in his motorcycle along Walker Street. Consequently, police chased Ramirez, where he continued to drive at a high rate of speed with his 2015 Yamaha FZ07. Furthermore, Ramirez failed to yield at a red light at the intersection of East Walker Street and Papst Avenue, causing him to collide with a red Subaru, ejecting Ramirez from his motorcycle. First responders arrived and pronounced 20-year-old Ramirez dead due to the extent of his injuries. Meanwhile, the driver of the Subaru was evaluated and was later released, while the driver of the Toyota was hospitalized for further treatment. Additionally, the Walker Street and 6th Street intersection were closed down for cleanup duties. Further investigation is still ongoing.
