A man who was fatally shot during a card game on a porch in South Los Angeles February 12 has been identified as 61-year-old Gumaro Carrillo Velazquez. According to police reports, Velazquez was playing poker when the gunman came up to him and started shooting around 11:30 p.m. Friday.

There were at least four bullet casings found on the sidewalk near the shooting in the 1300 block of East 42nd Street. Velazquez was taken to County-USC Medical Center in Boyle Heights, where he died of his injuries. So far, no motive for the shooting has been released by police.
