Because the save-the-piggies brigade will be in full effect there Thursday to show-and-tell about the “the brutal treatment of animals for food,” according to a statement. (But they're so tasty).

Here's the group's statement:

Americans have the right to know where their food comes from, and there is growing concern over the cruel treatment of farmed animals. Consumers are not often shown the intensive confinement, abusive handling, painful mutilations, careless neglect, and merciless slaughter of the nearly 10 billion sentient animals per year destined to end up on our plates.

So be there.

And remember, if you show, it would be rude to be scarfing down pork rinds and hot dogs during the event.
