Do you really care what users of a sexually charged hook-up app for guys' guys think about politics?

We do! Remember we're L.A.'s alternative news source. The gay male community is relatively happy with the performance of President Obama, who has made no secret of his support for LGBT rights.

While Obama's overall average approval rating for his latest quarter in office is about 41.5 percent, according to Gallup, approval among Grindr users seems slightly higher:

The location-based app for hook-ups and friendship, which is based in Hollywood, says 54 percent of the users it recently polled said they would not vote for Obama again.

We're assuming that about 46 percent, then, would vote for him again, although it's possible there were folks who were noncommittal either way. The raw data was not made available.

About 66 percent of Grindr users voted for Obama, though, the poll found.

Exactly half, 50 percent, said a weak economy was the biggest issue facing America today.

Fifty-three percent said they would vote for Hillary Clinton in 2016, and 58 percent said they would vote for her in a hypothetical match with Obama(!).

The poll, which asked 2,400 Grindr users to weigh in, found that John F. Kennedy was ranked as “the hottest” U.S. president. Obama took second place.

Maybe this Grindr observation explains it:

It’s no secret that Barack Obama has done more for the LGBT community than any other President in U.S. history …

Or maybe he's just a POTUS chulo.
