Last Friday ABC television's Nightline program examined the Los Angeles serial killer known as the Grim Sleeper. The report featured an interview with L.A. Weekly writer Christine Pelisek, who broke the story that South L.A. had a serial killer operating in its midst — even though the city and LAPD were remaining mute about the danger. Pelisek has provided periodic updates to this story and this week's L.A. Weekly also features a Considerable Town piece by Jervey Tervalon, who remains haunted by a tip he received — and ignored — by his high school students two decades ago, that may or may not have exposed the Grim Sleeper. Tervalon's recollection is also highlighted in a CBS 2 report.
