90-Year-Old Man Fatally Injured in Auto Collision near South Heritage Palms Drive

INDIO, CA (January 21, 2022) – 90-year-old Gregory Masters was killed Friday afternoon, in a car accident on Miles Avenue.

According to the police, the fatal incident occurred at the intersection of Miles Avenue and S. Heritage Palms Drive around 4:45 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers located two vehicles described as a white sedan and white SUV, blocking the intersection.

Afterwards, firefighters extricated two victims and transported one seriously injured victim via air ambulance to John F. Kennedy Memorial Medical Center.

Due to the impact, 90-year-old Gregory Masters succumbed to his injuries despite extensive life-saving efforts.

Additionally, a total of four victims received moderate to serious injuries, according to Cal Fire. Although, authorities have not yet released their identities.

At this time, Indio Officials are still currently working to identify the circumstances surrounding the crash.
