Oh yes it’s ladies night, and the feeling’s right: After 12 years of repping underrepresented female playwrights and directors in Philly and New York, Alex Dilks Pandola finally is presenting a one-act play festival showcasing their L.A. sisters. GLO, or Green Light One-Acts 2014, is dedicated to plays written and directed by some of this city’s most badass broads. That means four 90-minute theatrical gems: Femme Noir, a 1940s murder mystery headed by “tough-as-nails” P.I. Ruby Russell; Sisters Lunching by the Seaside, featuring half-sisters Clytemnestra and Helen of Troy shooting the shit about the demise of Greek civilization over some quinoa; a dark comedy starring money, women, place and everything that could go wrong in Buying a House; and a journey into the abyss of a juice-cleanse bachelorette party in Juiced. All four are written and directed by award-winning female writers, directors, actors and producers in film and TV. Pandola’s Green Light Productions knows talent — and it also knows L.A., which is why there will be free parking. Just remember to say “I’m going to the Miles” to the attendant in the subterranean lot at 808 Wilshire Structure.
