Wrong-Way Collision on State Route 138 Left Two Fatalities

LANCASTER, CA (December 15, 2021) – A wrong-way collision on State Route 138 claimed the lives of 21-year-old driver, Grant Molino and his 49-year-old passenger, Jason Hernandez early Saturday morning.

The accident took place on 133rd Street East around 3 a.m. on December 11th.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2003 Chevrolet pickup truck traveling west in the eastbound No. 1 lane collided head-on with a 2020 Ford car, forcing the Chevy to flip and fall on its roof.

Officers responded and found 2 men dead on the spot, unfortunately, both men did not wear their seatbelts prior the crash.

Authorities identified the victims as Grant Molino, a 21-year-old Rancho Cucamonga resident, and Jason Hernandez, his 49-year-old San Bernardino passenger.

Meanwhile, the Ford driver escaped unharmed from the collision. The CHP stated that it is uncertain at this time if drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident.

However, an active investigation is underway.
