Updated after the jump with the gender of the supposed victim.

Mark Hubbard — 51-year-old teacher and athletic director at Hillcrest Christian, a Granada Hills K-12 school, for the last eight years — was arrested by the LAPD on Sunday on suspicion of committing “multiple sex crimes” against an underage student.

Hillcrest Christian immediately put Hubbard on a leave of absence. Apparently panicking that Google search would pick up its good name and spew it alongside Hubbard's lewd charges, school officials then removed all traces of his name from its website. Amusingly, it didn't work. Time to hire a new web guy, along with a health teacher/athletic director/assistant coach who doesn't like minors like that.

He's not on the school's Rate My Professor page either. Goddammit.

Most frustrating of all: Investigators won't release the age or gender of the alleged victim Update: The student is an underage female, whose parents reported Hubbard after what they said was a year of him “seeing” the student. (It is worth noting, however, that the man was an assistant coach for the high-school boys' basketball and baseball teams. He has also coached girls in the past.) Anyway, the LAPD thinks there are probably more victims, and are urging anyone who knows anything to come forward.

Principal Lance Haliday told ABC7 that the school “acted swiftly to respond to the situation,” and that “no student is at risk.” Just for the sake of argument, that's probably what he's been saying for the last year, too.

Hubbard is free now — he was able to post $100,000 bail, even on a California teacher's salary. Do you know where your children are?
