Post & Beam Hospitality Group, made up of restaurateur Brad Johnson, chef Govind Armstrong and director of operations David Borrego, will be opening a new restaurant in the next few weeks in Venice called Willie Jane. The restaurant will replace Wolf In Sheep's Clothing, which began as a pop-up but suffered from some identity confusion due to the pop-up's chefs (The Hart & the Hunter's Brian Dunsmoor and Kris Tominaga) not being part of the brick-and-mortar restaurant.

If you thought the Southern trend was dying down, think again. Willie Jane, named for Johnson's 100-year-old, Georgia-born aunt, will be a Southern restaurant with a focus on the coastal dishes of South Carolina and Georgia, the low country. Bar manager Phuong Tran is planning a bar with a focus on bourbon, as well as seasonal drinks and Southern specialties.

The space is undergoing a redesign and is expected to open as Willie Jane at 1031 Abbott Kinney Blvd. by mid-March.
