Barred for life? Black Flag's four bars, that is? Philadelphia writer Stewart Ebersole invites tattooed fans of the legendary hardcore band inked with their famous Raymond Pettibon-designed logo to be a part of his upcoming book Barred for Life (estimated publication in 2010).
Stewart, along with photographers Jared Castaldi, Todd D. Barmann and Matthew Smith — all hailing from Pennsylvania — hit the road back in September, making stops at various bars, tattoo shops and records stores in major cities to photograph and interview fans.
And they'll be setting up shop in SoCal for five days, beginning Sunday at Masterson Kustoms in Lynwood (11070 Atlantic Ave., 3-6 p.m.) and Monday at Shelter Street and Skate in Fullerton (2437 E. Orangethorpe Ave., 6 p.m.), where all-female Misfits/Danzig cover band Dirty Black Summer and Millions of Dead Comps, featuring members of Samhain and Tiger Army, will perform — and there's no cover charge.
