The North Valley Planning Commission will hear an appeal at 4:30 today on a proposed propane filling station at what used to be a Coffee Stop. The Sunland-Tujunga Alliance is fired up and ready to go, calling the plan a foolish use of what is supposed to be a pedestrian-friendly retail area.

This is just a small example of the kinds of fights new director of planning Michael LoGrande will have to deal with.

Here are the detail on the hearing, which is today at 4:30: Marvin Braude Center, 6262 Van Nuys Boulevard, Van Nuys.

The Weekly will be there and report back.
