Thanks to a tweet from @marionnestle (that would be Marion Nestle, Paulette Goddard Professor in the Department of Nutrition, Food Studies, and Public Health and Professor of Sociology at New York University, author of What to Eat and other books, and of the Food Politics blog, to those who don't speak Twitter) for the link to a story published today by Food Safety News called “The Who's Who of Food Safety on Twitter.”

Author Helena Bottemiller, a Washington, DC-based reporter covering food policy, politics and regulation, gives us a terrific list of 25 people or institutions to follow on Twitter for the most up-to-date food safety news. Other than Nestle, Bottemiller includes scientists, authors, professors, media consultants and a “food policy wonkette,” on her list — yes, click on the link to find it, and yes, obviously, you can follow @foodsafetynews on Twitter — as well as a few lawmakers thrown in for good measure. Consider it Follow Tuesday.

And you can, of course, follow us @LAWeeklyFood, where we would be more than happy to get food safety news tips as much as Professor Nestle probably would.
