Diep Tran, chef-owner of Highland Park's Good Girl Dinette, isn't taking the day off on Labor Day — instead, she turning her restaurant into a one-day-only pie shop, which will offer homemade pies baked with local produce. You know, just in case her customers need something to serve after their barbecues, picnics or cookouts.

Three varieties of pie will be available, including a Redheart plum pie, an O'Henry peach pie, and an apple pie made with red Galas — which have just started to pop up at local markets. All pies are priced at $25 each and are available for pick-up at Good Girl in Highland Park. They can be ordered at 323-257-8980 or via email at orders@goodgirldinette.com.

Orders can be placed as late as 10 p.m. this Sunday, and will be available for walk-in purchases. But be warned: These pies will go fast.
