The U.S. Army got the Gloria Allred treatment Monday after a suspect in its custody who was wanted for the L.A.-area rape of a 15-year-old Antelope Valley girl escaped before being captured over the weekend.

The teenager, identified at a news conference as Jamie, was allegedly raped in December, 2009.

The suspect, 20-year-old Army private Daniel Brazelton, was in Army custody when he escaped. The L.A. County Sheriff's Department last week was on the lookout, stating that he was armed, dangerous and possibly on his way back to Palmdale from the East Coast.

But authorities nabbed him Friday night at a Daytona Beach hotel.

On Monday Allred blasted the Army, stating before reporters in L.A. that it was guilty of the “mishandling of one of its soldiers.”

A relative of Jamie who was not identified said “the army needs to own up and fix what they are doing wrong.”

Brazelton was under arrest n Hinesville, Georgia when he escaped Feb. 11 during transport from a medical appointment, according to an L.A. County Sheriff's statement.

On Friday night he was found in room 55 of the Heritage Inn.
