39-Year-Old Woman Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Accident near Patterson Lane

BAKERSFIELD, CA (January 25, 2023) – Friday, Glenda Williams was involved in a pedestrian crash that left one woman dead on Highway 178.

The incident occurred around 5:00 p.m., just east of Patterson Lane on December 16th.

Per reports, 73-year-old Williams was heading east in a 2007 Saturn while a pedestrian was walking in the traffic lanes wearing dark clothing. Officers say Williams was unable to see the woman and struck her.

Upon impact, Williams immediately fled the scene without contacting authorities or rendering aid to the severely injured victim.

Medical personnel arrived and pronounced the 39-year-old female pedestrian dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released her identity.

California Highway Patrol Officers were able to locate and contact Glenda Williams, of Onyx the following day. However, reports indicate that no arrests were made. Once available, further details will be provided.
