If you haven't noticed, it's that time of year when the best-of lists, biggest-story roundups and top 10 rankings arrive, and it's especially pronounced as the '00s are coming to a close. (BTW, we hope this post ends up in your top 10 posts about top 10 posts). The headline here says it all: The founder of the Girls Gone Wild DVD series, sometime Angeleno and proud-to-be-a-perv Joe Francis is “Douche of the Decade,” according to Gawker.

We couldn't agree more. After all, this is the guy who once pinned a reporter against a car hood and held her arms painfully behind her back. He's a guy who has been accused of making child pornography, pleaded guilty no contest to prostitution and child abuse, and filed false tax returns. Oh, and he makes videos of young, drunk women flashing their privates for free t-shirts. Woo!

We're surprised husband-of-Brittany-Murphy Simon Monjack wasn't considered (too soon), but, according to LAist, Francis beat out some major competition, including the mustache man himself, Dov Charney (whose American Apparel advertisements could be seen as a kind of Hipster Girls Gone Print). We assume he also topped Glenn Quagmire. (Giggity).

Gawker states that Francis “continues to be rich, famous, douchey, and ever more loathsome by the hour … Joe Francis! You have made the world a worse place! You have assaulted and raped! You have degraded thousands! You are a terrible human being! You are Gawker's Douche of the Decade!”
