Juvenile Female Airlifted after Semi-Truck Collision in Colton

Colton, WA (April 20, 2021) – Thursday night, a juvenile female was seriously injured when a semi-truck struck her on State Route 195.

At about 8:40 p.m., deputies received reports of a family disturbance at a residence just south of Colton.

After attempting to make contact with a girl who was part of the disturbance, she fled the scene and was struck by a semi-truck in the middle of the roadway on State Route 195.

According to the news release, the teenager was airlifted to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane Washington. Her diagnosis was unclear, and her identity is still unknown.

Almost an hour after the crash, the road was shut down in both directions. But, the area on State Route 195 has since reopened.

At this time, an active investigation remains ongoing. Once available, more information will be released.

Because of their sheer size, large vehicles, like semi-trucks and trailers, increase the risk of a crash. Maintain your travel lane and follow the speed limit. Also, adjust accordingly to give way for lane changes and other vehicles.
