One Killed, Four Others Injured in Fatal Rear-End Collision near Sycamore Ridge Trail

TUCSON, AZ (August 1, 2022) – Tuesday morning, a two-car rear-end crash on Sahuarita Road claimed the life of Julianna Dixon

The incident happened on July 26th, at around 8:00 a.m. on Sahuarita Road, near Sycamore Ridge Trail.

According to Pima County Sheriff’s Department, a Dodge Journey was stopped at the intersection of Sahuarita Road and Sycamore Ridge Trail, when it was rear-ended by a Hyundai Elantra.

There were three people in the Elantra, the driver, and two children in the back seat. One of the children, 7-year-old Dixon, sustained major injuries and was transported to the hospital, where she later died. The other child and the two occupants of the Journey were also injured and taken to the hospital. Their wounds are reportedly non-life-threatening.

At this time, the circumstances surrounding the crash on Sahuarita Road are unknown. However, an active investigation is underway.
