74-Year-Old Woman Dies after Driver Crashes Apartment in Clovis

CLOVIS, NM (June 1, 2021) – 74-year-old Gillian Sweeney lost her life Saturday night after a fatal crash on Llano Estacado Boulevard.

The tragic accident happened around 11:00 p.m. May 29, at an apartment complex near Martin Luther King and Llano Estacado Boulevard.

For unknown reasons, a Ford Fusion drove through the wall of 74-year-old Gillian Sweeney’s apartment. Sweeney was hit when the car crashed into the bedroom.

Responding officers discovered Gillian Sweeney with critical injuries, and she was later pronounced dead.

Meanwhile, police have not revealed the identity of the 21-year-old driver. At this time, no additional information has been provided.

The Clovis Police Department, on the other hand, is investigating the crash.
