Winnetka Avenue Hit-and-Run Leaves One Pedestrian Dead, Driver Arrested

LOS ANGELES, CA (May 18, 2022) Police arrested 30-year-old Gevorg Goerge Gevorgyan after fatally hitting a pedestrian on Winnetka Avenue.

According to the report, the crash happened around 9:34 p.m. on Saturday at 7600 N. Winnetka Avenue.

In addition, the coroner’s office identified the deceased pedestrian as a man in his 40s. His name remains unavailable, pending notification of next of kin.

Investigators said Gevorgyan drove northbound on Winnetka and hit the man walking along the roadway.

Furthermore, the authorities said the suspect stopped momentarily before fleeing the scene.

However, Gevorgyan later returned to the scene of the crash where he was eventually arrested.

Moreover, both directions of the roadway temporarily closed down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

Los Angeles Officials continue to investigate the incident at this time.
