Opening today at secret art hot spot THIS: Los Angeles, South Carolina native John Hill Jr.'s first show on the West Coast, Drawn, celebrates obsessive compulsiveness. Colorful, intricate, frenzied drawings by the .005 micron pen range in size from a few inches square to 12 feet long. These beautiful high-school-notebook/car crash pieces on paper seem to build upon themselves the longer you stare. If you miss the reception Friday evening, there will be an open dialogue with Hill about his work and the show Saturday at noon. Be sure to discuss over an eggplant and black olives pie at Folliero's in the 'hood — not that you need an excuse for good art and good pizza.

Tuesdays-Sundays. Starts: July 16. Continues through Aug. 16, 2010
