38-Year-Old Driver Killed in Multi-Car Collision on 105 Freeway in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, CA (April 20, 2021) – Shortly after midnight, Gerson Jimenez was killed in a fatal multi-car crash on 105 Freeway.

The deadly accident was reported just after 12:55 a.m., on April 15. Dispatchers arrived on the westbound lanes just west of Alameda Street.

According to reports, Jimenez, 38, crashed his 2005 Toyota in the carpool lane for unknown reasons. Shortly after, an oncoming 2006 BMW struck his disabled vehicle and collided with another 2016 Toyota in the No. 2 lane.

Jimenez sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision and died shortly afterwards.

Meanwhile, first responders rushed the other drivers, as well as three passengers in the 2016 Toyota to a nearby hospital for treatment.

While it is early in the investigation, authorities are trying to find out if speed played a role.
