18-Year-Old Passenger Dies in Wrong-Way Car Accident near State Route 103
LONG BEACH, CA (June 23, 2023) – Early Saturday morning, Geronimo Reynaga was killed in a wrong-way collision on Pacific Coast Highway. The incident occurred on May 13th, around 2:30 a.m., near State Route 103. According to reports, the 18-year-old driver of a BMW with two passengers struck a curb near the Terminal Island Freeway and lost control of the vehicle. As a result, the BMW struck a raised median and another curb. Upon impact, the BMW became airborne and overturned, ejecting Reynaga from the vehicle. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced 18-year-old Reynaga, of Wilmington dead at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics took the driver and the other passenger to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Following preliminary duties, police suspect that impairment and speed were factors.
