66-Year-Old Man Killed in Semi Truck and Car Collision on State Route 240

BENTON CITY, WA (November 3, 2021) Gerald Harris, 66, lost his life Thursday morning after his car collided with a semi truck on State Route 240.

The accident happened around 5:30 a.m. at the intersection State Route 240 and State Route 225, on October 28.

According to reports, Harris was driving north on SR 225 when, for unknown reasons, he failed to stop at the crossroads where a semi driving east on SR 240 collided with Harris’ car.

Officers responding pronounced Harris dead at the scene.

On the other hand, the semi truck driver did not sustain injuries and remained at the scene to cooperate with the authorities.

Moreover, officials stated that Harris may not be wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Benton City police continue to investigate the fatal crash on State Route 240.
