77-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck in Hit-and-Run Crash near Gilbert Street

GARDEN GROVE, CA (September 9, 2022) – Thursday afternoon, George Wahb was arrested after a fatal pedestrian crash on Lampson Avenue.

The collision happened around 12:06 p.m., along the 9500 block of Lampson Avenue. Dispatchers responded to the scene near Gilbert Street on August 11th.

According to reports, the 77-year-old pedestrian was walking in the area when he was struck by a black Subaru Impreza, driven by Wahb. Upon impact, Wahb failed to stop and fled the scene.

First responders located the pedestrian lying on the road with serious injuries. Medics transported the man to a local hospital for further treatment.

Despite life-saving efforts, medics later pronounced the victim dead at the hospital. Authorities have not yet released his name or place of residency.

Police later located 26-year-old George Wahb, of Stanton and booked him into Orange County Jail on felony hit-and-run charges.
