27-Year-Old Man Arrested for DUI  after Deadly Accident in Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, CA (March 11, 2021) – Wednesday night on March 3, 61-year-old George Hickey was killed in a DUI motorcycle crash on Elverta Road.

The incident occurred just before 7:00 p.m., on Elverta Road. Emergency crews arrived to the scene shortly after.

As reported by the CHP, the rider was traveling on the road just east of 16th Street when he collided with a white F150 pickup truck.

Due to the impact of the crash, Hickey was ejected from the motorcycle. Paramedics later pronounced him dead on scene.

In addition, the 27-year-old driver of the pickup truck was described as a man from Citrus Heights. He stayed on scene and was arrested on suspicion of DUI. However, his identity has not been released.

Meanwhile, traffic from Cherry Brook Drive to 16th Street was shut down on Elverta Road as authorities were investigating the incident. Since then, the road has reopened.
