32-Year-Old Dies in Multi-Vehicle Accident near Perri Cone Road

JAMESTOWN, CA (March 8, 2022) – Sunday night, Geno Gurich was killed, and multiple were hurt in a head-on collision on Highway 120.

According to California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 6:45 p.m., near Perri Cone Road

As per investigation, 32-year-old Gurich was driving an eastbound 2004 Honda Civic at a high rate of speed. Near Perri Cone Road, he crossed over the double-yellow lines into oncoming traffic.

Shortly after, he drove directly into the path of a 2021 Mazda CX-5 driven by 34-year-old Charmin Rogers. The Mazda vehicle had four passengers, including three minors.

The impact sent Gurich to a Medical Center in Modesto, where he later died.

Meanwhile, parties in the other car were taken to a local hospital except for a 12-year-old female, who was flown to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento for further treatment.

As of the last reports, officers believed alcohol was a contributing factor to the head-on collision.
