One Man Dead, another Injured after Single-Car Collision on U.S. 93

WEST WENDOVER, NV (June 28, 2022)  45-year-old Gennady Sarkisov died after single-car crash at U.S. 93 on Tuesday.

The accident occurred at 4:30 a.m. along northbound U.S. Highway 93 Alternate near milepost 47.

According to reports, Sarkisov was driving a white Suzuki Grand Vitara utility vehicle when he crossed over the center line and into the oncoming lane of traffic.

Sarkisov then overcorrected and drove off the road. As a result, the vehicle spun back across the road and came to rest on its side.

The crash ejected Sarkisov out of the vehicle and he was later pronounced dead at the scene.

In addition, medics took one passenger from the vehicle to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Both were not wearing seat belts at the time of the accident, according to officials.

At this time, authorities are investigating whether an impairment is the primary cause of the accident. More details will be released once available.
