Traffic Accident on Bernard Street Left One Fatality

BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 22, 2022) – A motorcycle crash on River Boulevard claimed the life of Garry Donn Poindexter, Friday afternoon.

The accident at River Boulevard and Bernard Street occurred around 4:00 p.m., according to initial reports.

Furthermore, police said Poindexter’s motorcycle collided with a car for unknown reasons.

Eventually, medical responders arrived at the scene and transported Poindexter to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Later on, the Kern County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased motorcyclist as 41-year-old Garry Donn Poindexter.

At this time, Bakersfield Officials are working to identify the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Poindexter’s family started a GoFundMe page to help with funeral expenses.
