Garden Grove's Elvis Festival Was a Wonderland of Sideburns and Jumpsuits

This month marked the 40th anniversary of Elvis Presley's death, and Southern California fans gathered at the annual Elvis Festival on Historic Main Street in Garden Grove for its 18th year on Sunday, Aug. 27. Highlights included performances by Elvis tribute artists Scot Bruce and Krazy Kirk and the Hillbillies, plus the King of Cadillacs Car Show, vendors selling wacky Elvis memorabilia and the final round of the Creme de la King Elvis karaoke contest. Singing contest winners included George Thomas, Lloyd Aron Douglas and Donovan Chavez, and there were more rhinestone jumpsuits than you could shake a stick at.
