As the L.A. Times' Jack Leonard reported, Timothy McGhee, the charismatic but deadly leader of the Toonerville street gang, had his death sentence for three murders confirmed by Superior Court Judge Robert Perry on Friday. Last August's L.A. Daily story about the jury's sentencing recommendation (“Timothy McGhee Sentence: Death Without Parole”) sparked a passionate exchange of pro and con reader comments about McGhee that continues to this day:

Timothy McGhee is not a dangerous man becuase there were six sheriff deputies guarding him. There is usually one sherrif guarding him. I know this becuase I have attended his courts.Timothy McGhee does not deserve the death penalty because his children will be fatherless.

Headlines all stated Timothy McGhee was responsible for over a dozen deaths, but has only convicted for 3? Prosecutioner's job is to pin someone, hopefully they never have to live with pinning the wrong one!

Has he ever been there for his kids? would it be better for the kids

to grow up fatherless opposed to growing up with a father which will

guide them down the wrong path? If he is guilty then he should be put

to death ASAP. As he told his victim, “Die like a man” and dont appeal.

I think what he got was fare because my daughter was left father

less by his actions. He took someone special away from US , we had alot

of plans for are daughter , but now all the dreams went out the window

by this cowerd…At less his kids could write to him , all my daughter

has is memory photos she would never be able to kiss him ,hold his hand

or say hi….So people have stop filling sorry for the cowerd…SO

JUSTICE HAVE BEEN SERVED THANK GOD….

the verdict is unfair. The DA was out to get him From the start and

so were the crooked cops. People testified and return got a get out of

jail card. He is not perfect but he is not a monster either. I betrayed

him and i am stil alive. According to the prosecuters if you betray him

and you die. That is a bunch of crap.

This is for the individuals who posted stating he is not a

“monster”! and he doesn't deserve the death penalty? this man

terrorized the neigborhood I grew up in, and killed a close friend of

mine. I only hope and pray God has no mercy on his soul, and he is

given the same torture and pain that he bestowed upon his victims, who

by the way begged for their lives! a good father? and son? this man is

a monster who should have never been born into this world.

“Only McGhee remained seated …” because if he tried to stand like

everyone else, he would have been shot by the deputies behind him.

Defendants in custody are not allowed to stand, particularly when

jurors are present..

this guy's only hope is that there is no afterlife. if there's an

afterlife, his actions have sentenced him to god knows how long of a

slow-roasting karmic payback. that crackup is that this clown probably

thinks he's clever. the fact is, he sold out his existnece for a hill

of beans.

what a laughable loser. couldn't cut it in the real world.

wait.. are you REALLY saying he is not a bad person?!!? This vicious

predator killed my friends mother, and grandmother. One of the sweetest

ladies i knew because she was a witness to a crime. Wrong place at the

wrong time. If he was so concerned about being there for his children,

he would have not been being a menace to society “running” the streets”

claiming his “hood”and causing trouble and chaos!! HE is is no way a

father! just a sperm donor i would say.. Those poor kids just got

unlucky for getting scum as a father. IF anyone watched the verdict

being read, you can tell this pathetic excuse for a man just smiled,

showed no remorse for anyone he killed. Im glad he is getting what he

deserves, parent or not, if the courts would be harder on these

heartless criminals, maybe more of them that deserve to die would be

executed, not sitting in prisons their whole lifes while us tax payers

pay for their sorry butts!! the quicker this trash is caught, the safer

our streets will be.
