If you went to art school, you know what the art undergrads do with condoms, filling them with various fluids, blowing them up like balloons. It's hard to know what to make of Gabriel Kuri's use of condoms in his first show at Regen Projects. Inflated, stuck between rocks as if holding them up, they're like the juvenile, risque words in jokes well crafted enough to puzzle over for a little while. The same can be said of Kuri's insulation-roll sculptures: they're funny but well made enough that you laugh with them, not at them. 6750 Santa Monica Blvd., Hlywd.; through June 28. (310) 276-5424, regenprojects.com.

Tuesdays-Saturdays. Starts: May 24. Continues through June 28, 2014
