DUI Driver Arrested after Fatal Rear-End Accident near Gateway Drive

PALM SPRINGS, CA (July 7, 2022) – Early Sunday morning Gabriel Casiano Martinez was killed in a DUI collision on Highway 111.

The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m., just north of Gateway Drive. Following investigations, officers determined that Jackson George rear-ended another vehicle.

The passenger in the other vehicle, identified as 56-year-old Martinez of Gardena, died at the scene. Meanwhile, the 55-year-old driver in the same vehicle, sustained minor injuries.

Authorities later arrested 34-year-old George, of Whitewater for driving under the influence.
