In an effort to better familiarize our readership on the upcoming FYF Fest, which occurs tomorrow at the LA State Historic Park downtown — an easy walk from the Chinatown stop of the Gold Line, btw — West Coast Sound sent a brief questionnaire to a few bands scheduled to appear.

In this installment, Times New Viking's Jared Phillips answers the questions.

West Coast Sound: Proceeds from this year's festival are going toward saving the California state parks. What is your best camping story?

One time in Florida I saw an alligator. It just sat there.

Band you're most excited to see this year and why?

Not really interested in the bands, but I am curious about the kissing booth and taco eating contest. I hope they're next to each other.

How many times have you played the fest, and what's the craziest thing you've seen happen, happiest memory of the fest?

We played about two years ago. All I can remember is the security not letting us bring our own gear in. That was a pain in the ass.

Complete this sentence: In ten years I see my band …

In the cut-out bin.

If there's one thing the world needs to know about your band right now it's….

We are not a noise group. Oh, and we love cats
