Not to be a grinch or whatever, but holiday music can get a little old. Maybe you got your fill at the Glendale Galleria, where Wham's “Last Christmas” bombarded you while browsing at a loofah kiosk. Or maybe Santa Got Run Over By A Reindeer played endlessly while waiting on hold for Verizon's customer service. Enough's enough, it's time to hear some new takes on these old songs. And no, we're not looking at you, Fat Boys. As a classier alternative, LA-based spacey crate-digging rocker AM, recently released the Holiday Happiness & Cheer EP, with a few holiday songs infused with his distinctive mix of 1960's rock, bossa nova, and a little Philly soul.

Tonight he joins dream-pop songstress Sara Lov at the Hotel Café for a intimate performance in the coziest spot in L.A.

As an early holiday present, West Coast Sound exclusively offers AM's spacey, bossa nova take on “Christmas Time is Here,” from A Charlie Brown Christmas to spruce up your holiday mixtape. (After the jump)
