To the young 'uns out there, Jane Lynch is Sue Sylvester, the ball-buster in the tracksuit from Glee. To her older fans, she's better known as Christopher Guest's go-to gal (second to Jennifer Coolidge), especially as the competitive, butch lesbian poodle trainer in Best in Show. In a conversation with fellow actor and former Party Down TV castmate Adam Scott, the Emmy-winning funny lady discusses her just-published memoir, Happy Accidents, which includes a forward by Carol Burnett. (Factoid: In the book, Lynch shares a '70s fan letter to Vicki Lawrence, another connection to Burnett, who also guest-starred on Glee as Sue's mother). Lynch opens up about some of her personal struggles, including alcoholism and coming out. More importantly, Lynch chronicles her 30-year-plus career, from working at Second City and the Steppenwolf Theater Company to appearing in a Guest-directed Frosted Flakes commercial that would lead to their movie collaboration. Yes, you should thank Tony the Tiger. More factoids: She's deaf in one ear, and in 1998, she won an L.A. Weekly Theater Award for her play Oh Sister, My Sister! We've since forgiven her for not appearing at the awards show. Club Nokia at L.A. Live, 800 W. Olympic Blvd., dwntwn.; Sun., Oct. 2, 7 p.m.; $29, $49 with book. (213) 765-7000, livetalksla.org.
