Some pairings just work in baseball: Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris, peanuts and Cracker Jacks. Lukewarm beer on a a blazing hot summer day, however, is not one of them. Officials at Dodger Stadium seemed to have figured out as much. Since the beginning of the season, Kirin Ichiban has been offering frozen beer on the Loge level.

For those of you who haven't gone to a game (yet), Kirin's frozen beer is a pint of ice-cold draft beer served with a cap of frozen beer foam that's meant to keep your beer chilled for 30 minutes. The beer company figured out a patented technology that produces what it calls “frozen agitation.” According to Kirin, it's “a process where air is blown into the beer as it is continuously stirred and chilled.” Imagine a cold, drinkable meringue on top of cold beer.

If you can't make it to Chavez Ravine anytime soon, the frozen brew also is available at Chaya Downtown's Summer Beer Garden, which is running until Labor Day.
